Accreditation
Accredited editors have demonstrated their professional competence and understanding of editing standards, skills and knowledge by passing the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) rigorous accreditation examination. IPEd is the peak national body for Australian editors. It exists to advance the profession of editing and to support and promote Australian editors.
The IPEd examination is administered by IPEd’s Accreditation Board and is designed to measure an editor’s competence against the benchmark of IPEd's Australian Standards for Editing Practice. Candidates must achieve at least 80% in the examination to pass.
When you hire an accredited editor, you can be confident of receiving competent and professional editing services.
I passed the IPEd accreditation examination in 2011, and my accreditation was renewed in 2016 and again in 2021. Therefore, I am an accredited editor.
